Well done Stuart, it looks pretty good to me..not sure about the title though…is it a reference to something I should know or are you just feeling really overwhelmed by all the non-whites in rural Surrey! Al x

So, a couple of former mfa-ers have already made the comment that the title could be miscontrued as racist – as if it could perhaps suggest that white men should not die, but women and non-whites should.
This would be a real concern if it were a widespread one. I hope it is not.
It is, of course, meant to imply something very different, that is to state that this site, the mfa and its writers, are about getting away from the old establishment’s idea of a literary canon of dead white men. As such it is meant to signify an active promoting of all other kinds of writers and writing- contributing to the establishing of a new modern canon, or the complete abolition of a canon.

Evidently, this is an important issue and one which we need to clarify, and / or rectify promptly.
We need all your thoughts on this.

Al, that might be a wise suggestion if we receive a significant number of misconstructions.

is the title a defence against male degrading/hating/attacking/ ideas and writing?
